Curriculum vitae

Full Professor at the "Dipartimento di Lingue e Letterature straniere" since december 2010, he was researcher at the same University in the period 2000-2002 and then full professor  at the University "Ca' Foscari" of Venezia in the period 2002-2010. Marco Presotto was born in Venice in 1965. He obtained a degree in Modern languages and literatures at  "Ca' Foscari" and a PhD in Iberian studies at the University of Bologna.
He taught Italian language at the University of Barcelona from 1994 to 1999.
His principal area of study is classical Spanish Theatre (16th and 17th centuries), and he has worked from the outset on the PROLOPE research project at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
He has published many studies and critical editions of the theatrical works of Lope de Vega. He is also interested in the theatre of the early years of the 18th century, focussing on José de Cañizares, the medieval poesía cancioneril and the novela corta of the 17th century.
He takes part in various international research projects on Spanish drama of the Golden Age (Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, Universidad Valencia, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad de Huelva) and he is the director of the "Collana Dulcinea" published by Marsilio. He is a member of the executive committee of the PhD Board at the University of Bologna.
