Curriculum vitae

Activities

  •  Postdoc Research Fellow within the Radio Science and Planetary Exploration Laboratory of the University of Bologna. He conduct his research on deep-space navigation and radio science experiments. The main activity of the research is the orbital reconstruction of the LICIACube satellite. The other research activities regard the development of new deep-space navigation toolkits for small satellites for the exploration of the solar system.
  • Flight Dynamics Engineer within the navigation team of the Radio Science and Planetary Exploration Laboratory of the University of Bologna. As flight dynamics engineer, he worked to the deep-space navigation of the ArgoMoon and LICIACube missions, in particular during the flight operations on 2022.

Education

  • He graduated at the Industrial Technical Institute "Carlo Zuccante" of Mestre (Venezia) in July 2009 with computer technology specialization.
  • He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Padova with a thesis entitled "Costellazioni di satelliti in orbita eliosincrona-polare".
  • He obtained a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bologna with a thesis entitled "Numerical simulations of the orbit determination of a small sat mission for gravity investigation based on Satellite-to-Satellite Tracking".
  • He obtained a PhD in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences at the Department of Industrial Engineering (Astrodynamics and Deep Space Navigation) of the University of Bologna. The research work conducted during the PhD regarded the deep-space navigation, radio science experiments, and mission analysis. In particular, the main PhD project on which the dissertation focused is the navigation of ArgoMoon, the first fully Italian CubeSat to fly in the cis-lunar space in the context of the Artemis-1 mission.

Popular Science Activities

  • He carries out popular science activities in the field of astronautics with the Astrofili Salese Group (Venice) through annual exhibitions and dedicated monthly events.
