Maoyuan Cai

Maoyuan Cai is a PhD student at the University of Bologna and a member of the PULP platform research group. Her research focuses on reliable RISC-V vector-processing architectures for edge and embedded systems.

Her work investigates soft-error sensitivity and fault-tolerance techniques in vector processors, with a focus on radiation-induced transient faults that can affect memory elements, logic circuits, and overall system reliability.

She has presented her work at international conferences and is particularly interested in developing cost-effective reliability solutions for energy-efficient edge-AI and safety-relevant computing platforms.

She is also interested in open-source hardware and its role in enabling transparent, reproducible, and collaborative processor research.
