Short Bio

The evaluation of the aerodynamic behavior of porous structures currently represents a problem of growing interest for the Wind Engineering community. However, due to the presence of pores, the measurement of pressures around such structures is not easily accomplished by means of standard experimental procedures. As the physical probe is not existed, the aerodynamics of porous bluff bodies is possible to be studied by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) without local interference. Furthermore, by explicitly or implicitly modeling the pores, two approaches can be adopted in numerical simulations. Firstly, all of the geometric features, such as the holes, are considered in the simulations, which may requires a huge amount of computational resources. Another possibility is modeling the presence of the surface by means of appropriate pressure jumps, which can represent the porous surfaces without simulating the details of the flow. Considering such a convenience in operation, it is worthy to evaluate the accuracy of pressure jump approach in CFD, which is my major research topic. Go to the Curriculum vitae
