RESEARCH INTERESTS
His research covers the following fields:
- eDemocracy and eParticipation: tools and technologies for
eDemocracy and eParticipation
- Gamification: gamified technologies applied to various tools
for legal informatics, eDemocracy and eParticipation
- Games, videogames and serious games: research on games,
videogames and serious games applied to new forms of democracy and
to education
- Legal informatics: legal drafting systems, legal markup and XML
standards for the markup and interchange of legal and legislative
documents
- Human-Computer Interaction: new forms of interaction and new
metodologies for the evaluation of usability and user
experience
CURRICULUM VITAE (Updated in January 2014)
Born in San Giovanni Rotondo (Italy) July 12th 1981. He got the
scientific high school diploma in 2001 at the Liceo Scientifico
Statale Generoso De Rogatis of San Nicandro Garganico (Italy). On
December 19th 2006, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science at the University of Bologna. He completed his
undergraduate studies obtaining a Master's degree with honors in
Internet Science on November 14th 2013 at the University of
Bologna.
In January 2007 he began his collaboration with the University of
Bologna, in particular with the CIRSFID (Interdepartmental Centre
for Research in Legal History, Philosophy and Sociology of Law and
Legal Informatics). He also works with several professors of other
departments and facilities.
Specifically, he developed, designed or contributed to the
following projects :
- Parametric editors for structured documents
- Web applications for legal drafting, legal documents
repositories, semantic search engines
- Web applications for the management of ancient legal
manuscripts
- Tools for the publication of annotated linguistic
resources
- METALEX/CEN legal XML standard
- Editor NormaEditor for the markup of legislative documents
- Web editor LIME for the markup of XML resources (especially
legal and legislative documents marked up using AKOMA NTOSO
standard)
- Research in legal informatics during the following european
projects:

In January 2014 he became a PhD student in Legal Informatics at the
CIRSFID of the University of Bologna. His research attempts to
apply gamification's methodologies to technologies of
eDemocracy and eParticipation.
