Nota biografica

Lorenzo D'Arpe is Professor at the University of Bologna in Equine Medicine and Surgery in "Laminitis and other foot Pathologies" since 2017.

In 2000 graduated at the University of Bologna. From 2002 to 2004 worked in the IEPC with Ric Redden in Kentucky assisting in all surgeries around USA. Concluded his PhD thesis in Veterinary Clinical Sciences in 2009 in the University of Padua (tutor Prof. D. Bernardini) on the use of venogram as diagnostic tool for laminitis and as research tool for vascular foot physiology; becoming an International speaker, well known expert in the field of Equine Laminitis clinical evaluation. His researches on the equine foot hydraulic shock absorber and muscular hydraulic pump lead to the "5 Hearts " theory in 2009 and to the "5 Brains" Theory in 2014.

- Speaker in 322 courses, meetings, congresses, symposiums and lessons; 300 as invited speaker.

- Author of 148 publications on national and international journals, congress proceedings and books chapters on Human Instrumental Physical Therapy and Equine Podiatry, specially on Equine so called "Laminitis" that he prefers to distinguish in Coriumitis and Coriumosis.
