PhD candidate in Global Histories, Cultures and Politics at the University of Bologna, Department of History and Cultures (36th cycle), under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Marcocci. My research focuses on communication during the Portuguese "expansion" to Africa and Asia between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. More precisly, I am aiming to understand the role linguistic mediators played in the development of an interconnected space linking the Atlantic and Indian Ocean
