Hui Xia

PhD student (41th cycle) in Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Bologna, enrolled in the Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences (STVA) course.

My doctoral project is titled "Sediment transport in estuarine areas with implications for mangroves/salt-marshes" and aims to investigate the response characteristics of mangroves and salt marshes to variations in sediment supply and compare them to the response of nearby natural systems, particularly during extreme events. The project plan employs a combination of field measurements and satellite observations to obtain time series of SPM in coastal waters along the mangrove and marsh selected areas.

My PhD supervisor is Professor Sonia Silvestri.
