Short Bio

Giuseppe Cecere is Associate Professor of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Bologna. He holds a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies (History and Philology) from the University of Florence (2007). He was Fellow Researcher in Arabic and Islamic Studies at the IFAO (Institut Français d'Archéologie Orientale) in Cairo from 2010 to 2014. His researches focus on Sufi “presence” in the multicultural and multi-religious context of the Egyptian society, mainly in the Mamluk era and in contemporary times. Go to the Curriculum vitae

Office hours

The general hour for individual Student meetings will be  

Wednesday 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Teacher's office room at 33 Zamboni Street (Section of Anthropological, Religious and Oriental Studies).  

Students should ask for an appointment, by sending a mail to the Teacher not later than by 8 p.m. of the day before the one in which they would like to meet the Teacher. 

If there is any exception in the general meeting hours in a certain week, the Teacher will publish a warning in the "News" section of the present website.

Students are therefore warmly recommended to check the website. 

Students who would like to have a meeting in a different day or hour than the general one, are kindly invited to write to the Teacher.
