I gruppi per il progetto d'esame 2024/2025 devono essere stati formati, e approvati da me, entro il 28/4/2025. Idem per gli argomenti di ciascun progetto di esame.

Continuano, inoltre, a valere le usuali regole seguenti.

- Svolgete tutti gli esercizi nel materiale che trovate in VIRTUALE. L'iscrizione ad MC in VIRTUALE e' ristretta a chi ha Matematica Computazionale (MC) in piano di studi 2024/2025.

- Controllate spesso questa pagina di AVVISI (sia per eventuali comunicazioni, sia perche' non rispondo a domande la cui risposta e' gia' nei miei AVVISI).

Students of the University of Bologna, enrolled in any of my courses, are requested to use their institutional email address ( name.surnameN@studio.unibo.it ) if they need to get in touch with me.

When sending me an email, please state clearly your Name, Surname and the COURSE you are enrolling/enrolled in. Possibly, please state also the year of your enrollment in such a course. I lecture in various courses of different Degrees, thus I might not be able to answer emails that do not contain this minimal amount of information.

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS (STATS & MATHS) - EXAM RULES/INFO

This is a note for students who took the exam of Numerical Analysis (NA, 6 cfu, code 37261, STATS amp; MATHS curriculum, first cycle degree programme in Statistical Sciences) in an exam session (lets call it "session S").

Your result will appear in ALMAESAMI: it is for you to know your NA mark in session S; do not confuse it with the final registration of Numerical Analysis I.C. (12 cfu, code 37278), before which you must pass Computational Statistics (CS, 6 cfu, code 79192). Obviously, if you are only enrolled in NA (6 cfu) then the result in ALMAESAMI is your final mark, and I-II-III below apply.

Depending on the numerosity of students in session S, I might set a communal day/time/place for the exam correction: in this case, I will write a communication (in my NEWS page) within 1 week from the result publication. Therefore, you must wait and keep my NEWS site monitored for any possible notice: do not send me emails, requesting to see your paper, before 1 week from the result publication.

(I) Students of session S and whose result is less than 18. You are strongly invited to attend the exam correction; if I do not set a communal correction date and if you wish to see your exam paper, send me an email within 2 weeks from the result publication.

(II) Students of session S and whose result is in between 18 and 26. You are invited to attend the exam correction; if I do not set a communal correction date and if you wish to see your exam paper, send me an email within 2 weeks from the result publication. If I do not hear from you (in particular, if I do not receive a vote-refusal email from you --- use your UniBo account) within the next NAnbsp;session S+1, then I will keep yournbsp;session S resultnbsp;as accepted. The result from session S overwrites results from previous sessions (I will keep your last mark, not the best one).

(III) Students of session S and whose result is higher than 26. You are free to attend the exam correction; if I do not set a communal correction date and if you wish to see your exam paper, send me an email within 2 weeks from the result publication. In your case, there is no need to send me a vote-acceptance email: I will keep your NA (6 cfu) result valid until you pass CS; your NA result is already very good and you are advised to concentrate on preparing CS very well.nbsp;(If you are only enrolled in NA, 6 cfu, then I will register your mark).

(IV) Students with an accepted mark from any NA exam session previous or equal to S. I will keep your NA (6 cfu) result valid until you pass CS. Then, I will compute the average of NA and CS results and register it as the overall Numerical Analysis I.C. (12 cfu) result. As said before, do not confuse the result that I publish in the NA (6 cfu) list, in ALMAESAMI, with the final Numerical Analysis I.C. (12 cfu) result.

Communications related to CS must be done with Prof. Ranciati (not me). Prof. Ranciati will tell me the names of those students who passed CS; until his communication, I cannot answer questions on the overall result and I cannot register any mark.

For any problem with ALMAESAMI, please refer to the STATSamp;MATHS Tutor (stat.tutorsm@unibo.it).

I will not answer emails related to the above. I might also leave unanswered emails/questions whose answer is already in this NEWS or VIRTUALE or ALMAESAMI, or in the NA Syllabus/Course Web Site, or that should be addressed to the STATSamp;MATHS Course Tutor.

NUMERICAL METHODS (QF) - EXAM RULES/INFO

This is a note for students who have taken the 35433-Numerical Methods (NM, 6 cfu) exam from the QF curriculum, in an NM exam session (lets call it "session S").

Your result will appear in ALMAESAMI, corresponding to the NM session S you have taken: such a vote is just for you to know your NM result; please, do not confuse it with the final registration of the Numerical Analysis (NA, 12 cfu) exam, before which you also need to pass the 37262-Computer Programming (CP, 6 cfu) exam. (Obviously, if you are enrolled in NM only, then the vote in ALMAESAMI is you final vote, and I-II-III below apply).

Depending on the numerosity of the students who attended the NM session S, I might set a communal day/time/place for the exam correction: in this case, I will publish a notice, here, within 1 week from session S (therefore, you must keep this site monitored for any possible notice). Please, do not send me emails requesting an appointment to see your paper before 1 week from the publication of the results.

(I) Students who took the NM exam in session S and whose result is less than 18. You are strongly invited to attend the exam correction; if I do not set a communal correction date and if you wish to see your exam paper, please send me an email within 2 weeks from session S.

(II) Students who took the NM exam in session S and whose result is in between 18 and 26. You are invited to attend the exam correction; if I do not set a communal correction date and if you wish to see your exam paper, please send me an email within 2 weeks from session S. Please note that if I do not hear from you (in particular, if I do not receive a vote-refusal email from you --- use your UniBo account) within the nextnbsp;NM session S+1, then I will keep your session S result as accepted.nbsp;Please, note also that result from session S overwrites results from previous sessions (I will keep your last mark, not the best one).

Then, I will compute the average of NM and CP results and register it as the overall NA result. As said before, do not confuse the vote that I publish in the NM list, in ALMAESAMI,nbsp;with the finalnbsp;NA result.

Please, note that any communication related to CPnbsp;has to be done between you and Prof. Gaspari (not me): it will be, then, Prof. Gaspari who will communicate to me the names of those students who have passed CP,nbsp;and their votes; until such a communication, I cannot answer questions on the overallnbsp;result nor register any vote.

Please, note also that I will not answer emails related to any of the above. Segnalo che ogni a.a. (anno accademico) vengono bandite posizioni di "Tutor alla pari" per il supporto a studenti con disabilità e con DSA (Disturbi Specifici dell'Apprendimento).nbsp;

Mi rivolgo soprattutto a studentesse/studenti di Matematica Computazionale: spero che qualcuna/o di voi abbia voglia (e possibilita') di partecipare alla selezione, per potere fare una esperienza bella dal punto di vista professionale ed umano: si tratta di 150 ore da svolgere nell'a.a. corrente.

I Responsabili dell' Ufficio DSA di UniBO hanno chiesto aiuto per diffondere l'informazione, tra i vostri compagni di corso/amici iscritti a corsi di Laurea Magistrale (o Laurea Magistrale a Ciclo Unico): in particolare, si cercano Tutor per studentesse/studenti in corsi di Area Medico-Scientifico-Tecnologica.

MATEMATICA COMPUTAZIONALE (MC): come consegnare il progetto

La consegna del progetto di un gruppo avviene dopo che lo avremo discusso assieme (tutti i componenti del gruppo ed io) per un'ultima volta, durante o al termine delle lezioni laboratoriali dedicate, appunto, allo svolgimento del progetto, che ne avranno portato alla definizione, sviluppo e validazione finale.

A quel punto, ogni gruppo avra' pronti un tutorial.nb ed un pacchetto.m (oppure pacchetto.wl), ed eventuali altri file che siano parte del progetto.

NON inviatemeli via email. Mi darete un LINK da cui scaricare il tutto.

Messaggio a studentesse e studenti di MC 2019-2020

Desidero ringraziare le studentesse e gli studenti del corso MC 2019-2020, per la loro partecipazione attiva alle lezioni ed ai lavori per il progetto d'esame, per la pazienza e per l'aiuto datomi nel costruire, tutti assieme, un corso a prova di lock-down.

Nonostante la natura laboratoriale della materia trattata, infatti, e' stato soprattutto grazie a voi studenti che il corso si e' svolto senza troppi intoppi ed in maniera proficua.

La collaborazione tra studenti e docente, e tra studenti, e' sempre la regola fondamentale per la riuscita di un corso, e per questo io ringrazio tutti i miei studenti, di ogni corso io abbia svolto.nbsp;

Un grazie particolare va ai "miei" studenti MC 2019-2020: vi voglio bene anche io!
