Research Project:

Predictions of ocean pollution transport and transformation

My research topic is oil pollution in the ocean. In particular, I am using Medslik-II, a model by CMCC, to study the surface evolution of oil slicks using high-resolution currents and winds, which are obtained by downscaling lower resolution model data. At the same time, I am developing a new subsurface model which reproduces the plume dynamics in case of leaks at the seabed.
