1) Research on endoparasites of farm animals and pets. 2) Surveys on parasitic zoonoses focused on Public Health Services  and educational activity for categories at risk. 3) In vitro and in vivo test for  natural and pharmaceutical  products  against different gastro-intestinal animal parasites. Studies of efficacy on commercial antiparasitic drugs. 4)  Risk analysis for parasitic diseases  of farm animals  linked to economic losses. 5) Permanent updating of epidemiology of Echinococcosis and Toxoplasmosis  in Italy based on current data and literature analysis. 6) Studies on host / parasite / environment  relationship of different wild animal species. 7) Manure sanification development and application (MIDA) as biological technology for treatment of laying hen manure.

1) This point includes epidemiological surveys on endoparasites of domestic and wild animals. Currently  the attention is focused on horse, donkey, pig and dog; Recently Red dear, roe dear and wildboar were added in this field of interest.  On the new pets front we are working with snakes parasites. 2) Research on the presence and the biomolecular characterization of zoonoses agents mainly focuses the items on instrument direct diagnosis of Cistic Echinococcosis in sheep, on the epidemiology of the disease in cow living in non hyperendemic areas and on the cost of human hospitalised cases. A specific line regards the horse echinococcosis and its distintive aetiology. A strong  activity, not only at the scientific level, runs in the field of Urban Veterinary Hygiene and in the collection and evaluation of data on Zoonoses at National and International level.  3) Research on the efficacy of antiparasitic drugs according to WAAVP guidelines . Also natural unorthodox drugs are tested as Neem on animal parasites like gastro-intestinal strongyles of ruminants. Also the use of tannins against poultry coccidiosis is tested. 4) Employment of risk analysis in parasitic diseases of farm animals. This kind of scale not only use socio economic inferences but is concluded with the last step relative to the diffusion of the results to the farmers. In  this case the risk analysis represents a true instrument for health education. In this moment the attention is focused on pig parasites. 5) The activity of critical updating of epidemiology of Echinococcosis and Toxoplasmosis in Italy is based on official data arising from different Regions  implemented with literature. 6) The eco-pathologic approach is different from the  zoiatrics one for the contribution of data of olistic nature.  The parasites are studied considering the host populations and the special environment of integration. The aim is to understood the binding mechanism of the three entities  (host/parasite/environment) to clarify basic knowledges and to enrich the forecast opportunity for epidemic emergencies due to transmissible agents for animals and humans. A recent research item links the presence of parasites with the population hierarchy inside the host. 7) Manure sanification development and application (MIDA) as biological technology for treatment of laying hen manure needs the control of the reduction of virus, bacteria, fungi and parasites. The final aim is to transform by the addition of vegetable enzymes  in piles or in big bags the manure in a good top dressing water saving for agriculture
