Curriculum vitae

Born in Ragusa, Italy, Mar. 9th, 1995.


  • November 2019 - present: PhD Student, Department of Agricultural and Food Science, Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna (Supervision: Prof. Federico Sirri). I am concerned with the study and the implementation of innovative strategies to promote animal health and sustainability in the poultry industry.
  • November 2017 - October 2019: Second degree in Safety and Quality in Animal Production. Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna (Supervision: Prof. Federico Sirri). I graduated in time discussing a thesis aimed to investigate the effects of different administration programs of a synbiotic supplement on broiler’s performance, foot pad dermatitis, caecal microbiota, and plasma metabolites. Final grade: 110 out of 110 magna cum laude.
  • September 2014 - July 2017: First degree in Animal Science.
    Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna (Supervision: Prof. Roberta Davoli). I graduated in time discussing a thesis regarding an in-depth analysis of the selective importance attributed to the genetic effects of the calving character in bulls’ selection within the Piedmontese cattle breed. Final grade: 110 out of 110 cum laude.


  • Co-supervision of a Bachelor's degree thesis entitled "Practical aspects of feeding laying hens".
  • Co-supervision of a Master’s degree thesis entitled "Effects of the dietary supplementation of a muramidase on broiler performance and plasma metabolome".


  • November 2018 - present: Commissioner of FIDSPA (Federazione Italiana dei Dottori in Scienze della Produzione Animale) for the Emilia-Romagna Region.
  • May 2019 - July 2019: Curricular internship, Quality Assurance of Livestock and Feed Productions, Amadori Group.
  • August 2016 - September 2016: Curricular internship, ANABORAPI (Associazione Nazionale degli Allevatori di Bovini di Razza Piemontese).


  • Winter School “The Road from Reviewer to Editor in Food Sciences and Agriculture Journals” organized by PLOTINA (Promoting gender balance and inclusion in research, innovation and training) in collaboration with Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna.
  • Organizer of the first FIDSPA national meeting entitled “Food4 Animal Science, challenges and opportunities of an evolving sector”.
    The event took place in Bologna on 14 September 2019.
  • Management training meetings organized by Federmanager Bologna-Ravenna in collaboration with the Camplus Lab section of Camplus Alma Mater.
  • Conference on the role of the Animal Science graduates in the Smart Farming era held at the University of Perugia.
