He was born in Assisi in 1983, student at Almo Collegio Borromeo in 2008 he graduated in Italian Literature at the University of Pavia and, in the same year, he graduated at the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori. Still at the University of Pavia, under the guidance of Prof. Renzo Cremante he has achieved the PhD, discussing in 2012 a thesis on the scenic and literary reception in Italy of Attic tragedy in the nineteenth and twentieth century.

In 2007 he started working in theatre, first as assistant director and then as second director / Dramaturg with Claudio Longhi, taking part in productions for the main Italian theatres, including Teatro Stabile di Torino, Teatro di Roma, Istituto Nazionale del Dramma Antico, Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione and Teatro della Toscana. Among the shows he collaborated with: La folle giornata o Il matrimonio di Figaro (2007), La resistibile ascesa di Arturo Ui (ANCT Award 2011 as best show of the year), Prometeo (2012), Istruzioni per non morire in pace (2016), La classe operaia va in paradiso (2018). In the meantime, he began to independently curate dramaturgies and / or directions, often in live music productions, such as Chi non muore si ripete (2016, Festival Torrechiara Renata Tebaldi / direction and drama), I pugni ricolmi d'oro (2016 , Teatro della Toscana / drama with Lino Guanciale and Silvia Rigon), La fattoria degli animali (2018, ERT Fondazione and FestivalFilosofia / direction and drama).

Since 2012 he has begun the artistic and / or organizational coordination of the participatory and educational theatre projects, conceived and directed by Claudio Longhi. The first, between Modena and Rome, was Il ratto d'Europa. Per un'archeologia dei saperi comunitari (2012-2014, ERT Fondazione and Teatro di Roma, Ubu 2013 Special Award), which, among the various prominent collaborations (Domenica-Il Sole 24 Ore, Rai Radio 3), saw the involvement of the main European cultural institutes in Italy and the realization, in November 2012 in Rome, of the Europolis path, in collaboration with the Union of European Theatres. Other partecipatory projects: Beni Comuni. Un teatro partecipato per una cultura condivisa (MIBACT-Comune di Carpi, in collaboration with ERT Fondazione and ATER), Carissimi Padri ... Almanacchi della "Grande Pace" (1900-1915) (2015-2016, ERT Fondazione and Teatro della Toscana). The collaboration continued at ERT Fondazione, when from 2017 to July 2019 he assumed the role of Dramaturg of the institution and coordinator of cultural activities and participated projects, giving also support to the schools, press and communication offices for the design of contents. In that position he supported artistic direction, collaborating in the construction of national productions and international co-productions. In the same way, he coordinated and organized the international conference between artists, directors, scholars and critics Theaters denizen of cities (Modena, Bologna, Cesena, 15-18 February 2018), in collaboration with the MAST Foundation and il Mulino. Also in the two years of Dramaturg in ERT he supported the artistic direction in the creation of the first training course of Dramaturg Internazionale. In the same period the collaboration with the publisher Luca Sossella began, for which, together with ERT, between January 2018 and July 2019 he directed the series of texts of new Italian and foreign dramaturgy Linea and Linea Extra, publishing unpublished or first translations of about twenty works. Finally, for Luca Sossella Editore, ERT Fondazione, Unipol and Rai Radio 3, in 2019 he oversaw the direction and dramaturgy of the cycle Oracoli. Saperi e pregiudizi ai tempi dell'IA.

Over the years he has also regularly cultivated, alongside his professional activity, scientific and didactic activities, both in the university and in theatre. He is the author of essays that, through the examination of some case studies of the modern and contemporary age, deal with directing, drama and, in particular, the problem of the relationships between the language of the scene and the literary one, with at the same time some openings on the front of the relationship between theatre and teaching as well as between theatre and politics. In this regard, it is worth remembering at least: Appunti sul “regista-professore”: Squarzina in Università (2014), Note intorno alla poesia per attore: versi a Gustavo Modena (2012), Fantesche, dame e regine. Due esempi di fenomenologia del femminile «en travesti»: Leone de’ Sommi e Flaminio Ariosti (2011). An upcoming volume with the publisher Pàtron, dedicated to contemporary Western theatre, with essays, among others, on Christoph Marthaler, Bob Wilson, Rimini Protokoll.
