I'm currently a PhD student in Data Science and Computation @ University of Bologna, working in the DISI department under the supervision of prof. Davide Maltoni. My main research interests are artificial intelligence and machine learning, in particular generative models (e.g. variational autoencoders and generative adversarial networks) and continual/lifelong deep learning (models that continue to learn for the entire duration of their "life cycle"). I'm also interested in bio-inspired and bio-plausible computational frameworks, especially those directly inspired by neuroscience.

From March to October 2019 I worked as a research fellow in the Biometric System Laboratory @ Unibo, in a project involving machine learning and biometric systems.  

Previously, I was a Master Student @ University of Bologna, where I graduated cum laude in 2018 with the dissertation "Style Transfer with Generative Adversarial Networks". During my university years I have represented the University of Bologna in the SWERC session of the 2014 International Collegiate Programming Contest, held in Oporto, Portugal.
