In addition to being affiliated to the University of Bologna, Frédéric Godart is an Associate Professor of Management & Human Resources at HEC Paris, in France. At HEC Paris he is also the Academic Director for the Luxury Certificate program sponsored by Kering's Luxury Strategies Chair. Before that, he was an Assistant professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD in France.
Frédéric received his PhD in Sociology from Columbia University in the City of New York. He also holds an MPhil in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge (Trinity College) in the United Kingdom, an MSc in Management from Sciences Po Paris.
His research focuses on the dynamics of creative industries (e.g., design, modeling, watchmaking, footwear).
He has published his research in a wide range of leading academic peer reviewed journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Studies, the Annual Review of Sociology, and Social Forces. He has written several books, among them Unveiling Fashion (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2012).
