Collaborations

Collaboration with:
SCRIPPS Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego (SIO)
Country:
United States of America
Description:
The scientific collaboration with SCRIPPS started in 2004 with Dr. Albert Zirino, focusing on the numerical modelling of the Venice Lagoon and its thermohaline patterns. The collaboration was strengthened in the recent years (2018 and 2019) with two Short Term Mobility grants founded by the National Council for Researches. I worked with Dr. Albert Zirino and Prof. Todd Martz at the MESOM Laboratory of SIO. We implemented a 3D numerical model of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon to support the research activities related to the measurements of Ph and CO2.
Collaboration with:
Istituto Idrografico della Marina Militare
Country:
Italy
Description:
I started to collaborate with the Hydrographic Institution of the Italina Navy in 2014. Together with other researchers, we conducted three oceanographic campaigns: Gulf of Taranto (October 2014 and July 2016) and Ligurian Sea (September 2017). The surveys were conceived by Prof. Nadia Pinardi according to the Marine Rapid Assessment methodology. We collected T/S data of the whole water column and current measurements in the upper mixed layer. Several Technical reports and research paper were produced.
Collaboration with:
Institut National de Recherche Halieutique
Country:
Morocco
Description:
Thanks to the Bilateral Accords Italy - Morocco, I worked to a joint project between the Institute of Marine Sciences (CNR-ISMAR) and the Institut National de Recherche Halieutique (CNRST-INRH) in Casablanca and Tanger. We developed an Hydrodynamic model of the Nador Lagoon, to evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of the closure of an old inlet and the opening of a new one. The model is conceived to become operational in the future years, to support the fishery activities.
