Short Bio

Francesco Ellia is a philosopher of science and theoretical neuroscientist, currently working as postdoc researcher (since 2023) at the department of Sciences for the Quality of Life of the University of Bologna, and Honorary Fellow (since 2019) at the Center for Sleep and Consciousness, Department of Psychiatry of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA).

Since June 2023 he is communication officer for DARE - Digital lifelong prevention.

He obtained his Ph.D. in 2021 with a dissertation on foundational issues in neuroscience of consciousness and Integrated Information Theory.

In 2021 he successfully completed the doctoral supervision program "European Ph.D. Network in Philosophy" at the universities of: Bergen (Norway), Bielefeld (Germany), Bucharest (Romania), Helsinki (Finland), Uppsala (Sweden).

He obtained his Master of Science (with Merit) from the University of Edinburgh (UK) in 2016, and his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Bologna in 2015.
