I am a PhD candidate in Sociology at the Department of Political and Social Sciences. My research focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on ethnic inequalities in education in Italy, including both disruption and recovery phases.
In my dissertation I examine three areas: (1) how the pandemic influenced high school track choices and whether these effects differed by migration background; (2) how school-level factors, such as teachers' digital proficiency and leadership, shaped ethnic disparities during disruption and recovery; and (3) how territorial variation in school closures affected learning loss and post-pandemic recovery.
Beyond my core research, I am interested in social stratification - including ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic inequalities - and the links between education, higher education, and the labour market. Methodologically, I use quantitative methods, including multilevel and longitudinal analysis.
