Flavia Solieri has a degree in Public Law and a second one in
Chinese (Ca' Foscari University, Venice).
At Ca' Foscari University she got her PhD title, and then taught
History of China.
She got the "Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale" for the level: Associate Professor.
She taught History of East Asia and History of Asia at the University of Genoa; History of China and Intercultural
Relations of China at Carlo Bo University, Urbino; Regional Studies (East
Asia) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore,
Milano. She is presently teaching History of China (1), History of the Eastern Asia and History of Modern and Contemporary China (specialized level) at the University of Bologna.
She participated, and participates, in international and
national conferences, submitting papers mainly about the after-1945
period and the passage from the civil war to the early
institutionalization of the People's Republic of China, the connection between Cold
war in East Asia and Chinese internal evolution, new Chinese
historical sources and method of historical research.
In general terms, she is particularly interested in the process of State-building in East Asia, and in the international scenario in the background.
Flavia Solieri also particularly brings into focus connections and recurring dynamics among Chinese and Japanese classic History and modern and contemporary History.
