Associate Professor of Political and Economic Geography with the qualification of full professor (since 2012) at Alma Mater Studiorum of University of Bologna. Since 1972 she has carried out as a lecturer in Geography (area M-GGR/02) at the University of Bologna.
The research is addressed to the themes of local development and territorial systems, tourism, heritage and cultural and tourist itineraries. He is editor of "AlmaTourism, Journal of Tourism, Culture and Territorial Development", and coordinates tourism in the Unesco-Italy "Landscaping, Urban Sustainability, Tourism" team. Engaged in national and international research projects, she collaborates with UNESCO, ICOMOS, and with some itineraries recognized by the Council of Europe (European Association of the Vie Francigene, the Cammini di San Martino and the Rotta dei Fenici). Author of over 150 publications, he received the Vallega prize for research on cultural-historical itineraries.
