MICROCONFERENCE and GROUP CHALLENGE

I am recruiting the UNIBO team (6 medical students - any year of enrolment) for the international online challenge Do you have what it takes to save humanity?" organized by Monash University (Melbourne) and based on the game “Pandemic”. Approximately 45 medical students from the eight G.A.M.E. Universities will be selected.

Winning Group will present at Main Global Alliance of Medical Excellence Meeting to GAME partner Universities

The following speakers have been invited:

1. Matthew Leacock: Creator of the pandemic game. The Californian based games designer will be giving us a live Q&A session. He donates 5% of the revenues from his 2008 multiple award winning worldwide hit cooperative board game Pandemic to Doctors Without Borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres for their work in providing medical aid where it is needed most

2. Kee Park: Director of Policy and Advocacy, Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School. He is a US board certified neurosurgeon with experiences in Low and Middle Income countries and current WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Surgical Care and Anaesthesia

3. Edward Fitzgerald: Clinical & International Lead in KPMG's Healthcare practice. As Global Executive to Mark Britnell, Global Chair of Healthcare, he worked internationally to support KPMG's health practice across 45 countries with revenues >$1.2bn. He is a British trained surgeon and is part of the Lifebox NGO, an organisation that works to promote surgical safety in low-resource settings

APPLICATION: UNIBO medical students (all years can participate) must send their applications by May 25th 2021 to Prof. Fabrizio De Ponti (fabrizio.deponti@unibo.it) together with this information:

  • Year of enrolment and number of credits (CFU) so far achieved
  • CV with details on previous experience in group challenges
  • Knowledge of English (at least C1)
  • Motivation letter in English
