Etienne Guichard has completed his studies at the University of Bologna. After the degrees in Natural Sciences and Biodiversity and Evolution, in 2018 he achieved his PhD in Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences - Biological curriculum, with a thesis titled "Impact of non-LTR retrotransposons in the differentiation and evolution of Anatomically Modern Humans".
His fields of expertise are molecular anthropology, computational genomics, the biology of transposable elements and data analysis in R and Unix environments.
Since Academic Year 2015/2016 he is also tutor of the course "Biometria evoluzionistica ed ecologica" (previously "Laboratorio di bioinformatica applicata alla biologia evoluzionistica").
