Erika Miyamoto joined the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Bologna in March 2024. She contributes her expertise to the PRIN 2022 PNRR GenDJuS project (2023-2025) on 'Rights and Prejudice: Linguistic and Legal Implications of Gendered Discourses in Judicial Spaces' as a Research Fellow.
Erika holds a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona (Spain), an LLM in International Law from the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom), and an LLB from Chuo University (Japan), specialising in international criminal law, international human rights law, transitional justice, victims' rights, and gender-based violence. She has served as a visiting researcher at both the University of Copenhagen and Leiden University. Additionally, she has worked as a coordinator for economic cooperation at the Embassy of Japan in Tanzania, supporting the implementation of humanitarian and development projects by international organisations.
