After gaining a PhD in Contemporary History at the Università della Tuscia (Italy) in 2010, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Universidad de Cantabria (Spain) between 2011 and 2012. I was visiting fellow at the European University Institute (Italy) during the academic year 2013-14 and postdoctoral fellow at the Centro Alti Studi Euaristos (Italy) in 2015. Between 2016 and 2018 I was Marie Curie fellow at the University of Leeds (UK).
My research interests focus on the history of transnational war volunteering, on the history of the European Antifascism and on the history of anarchism in southern Europe between the nineteenth and twentieth century. My current research focuses on the relationship between war volunteering and political radicalism in southern Europe. Between 2016 and 2018 I worked on the project “Garibaldinism and radicalism: Traditions of transnational war volunteering in Southern Europe, 1861-1936” funded by the EU Commission.
