Bachelor's degree in Civil - Environmental Engineering at Marche Polytechnic University.
Master's degree in Environmental Engineering at Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna; MS thesis: Analysis of the environmental issues of Ilva steel plant and partial evaluation of the impact of its emissions in the atmosphere through Calpuff model.
Ph.D. on the valorization of plastic materials through circular economy models, focusing the analysis on plastic packaging applications. Ph.D thesis: System innovation and life cycle thinking: the circularity of plastics.
After a post-doc at the Department of Management and a professional experience at Arpa Emilia Romagna, I'm actually a junior assistant professor and a member of the Hub for Sustainability and Climate Change at Bologna Business School with research on sustainable business models, circular economy strategies and corporate sustainability performances. I also collaborate with TU Delft and KIDV (Dutch Institute for Sustainable Packaging) working on the harmonization of plastic packaging design and extended-producer-responsability schemes in Europe.
I'm involved in European projects on the sustainability of plastic value chain. In particular:
- Bio-plastics Europe (Developing and Implementing Sustainability-Based Solutions for Bio- Based Plastic Production and Use to Preserve Land and Sea Environmental Quality in Europe)
- The circularity of plastic packaging: towards an European harmonization.
- eCircular - Catalysing a switch to a circular economy through plastic waste prevention
- Circular economy indicators for plastic value chain in manufacturing
- TRIS (Transition region towards industrial symbiosis)
I has been the tutor of the university courses Engineering of Raw Materials, Valorizzazione Materie prime seconde and Resources and Recycling at Bologna University.
With the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Bonoli, I'm supporting the activities promoted by ICESP (Italian circular economy stakeholder platform) and SUN (Symbiosis User Network). I'm member of the Scientific Committee of SEC (Circular economy stories).
I'm working with Emila Romagna Region on corporate responsibility and sustainability.
I participated in national and European summer school, winter school, workshops and conferences on sustainable waste management, LCA, circular economy and industrial symbiosis.
I'm involved in citizen science activities aimed at measuring and monitoring atmospheric pollution.
