Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 1993 (confirmed since 1999), conducts his research in the History of Religion and the (History of) Religions of the Classical World. Adjunct Professor (since 1993) of History of Religions at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart-Campus in Brescia.
Education and academic career
Graduated in Classical Letters in 1973 at the University of Padua. Research fellow (1973-1974) at the Department of Religious Studies of the Catholic University of Milan; research assistant (1974-1981) at the Institute of Greek Philology at the University of Padua; researcher confirmed (1981-1993) in the disciplinary field M-STO / 06 (History of Religions) at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Padua. In AY 1991/92 and 1992/93 lecturer of History of Religions of the Classical World at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Padua. From November 1, 1993 is associate professor at the University of Bologna and lecturer of History of Religions at the Catholic University of Milan-Campus in Brescia.
Since 1991/1992 lecturer of various teachings at various universities (Padua, Brescia, Bologna). Currently professor of History of Religions for the Degree in History of the University of Bologna and for the Degree in Literature at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Campus in Brescia; of Religions of the Classical World for Triennial Degree in History, in Anthropology, Religions, Oriental Civilizations, and for Master Degrees in Archeology and Cultures of the Ancient World, in Classical Philology, Literature and Tradition, and in Historical and Oriental Sciences of School of Arts and Letters of the University of Bologna.
Organizes and coordinates Seminars on subjects within its competence.
The research activity of Dario Cosi refers to the disciplines included in the scientific-disciplinary field M-STO/06 (History of religions) and corresponds to the evolution of knowledge in this scientific-disciplinary field. It is always inspired by philological and methodological rigor, the need for historical contextualization and for the purpose of illustrating and analyzing significant historical-religious issues.
Dario Cosi has participated in numerous national and international Conferences, often as rapporteur; he has collaborated in organizing some Seminars and Colloquia, in some cases publishing the Acts. He has been part of research groups of national interest related to the themes of the History of religions of the Classical World. He contributes significantly to the cultural divulgation of the History of religions as curator and translator of foreign works.
