CHRISTIAN CARLONI is an Associate Professor of Structural Mechanics at the University of Bologna (Italy). Dr. Carloni was an Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna from 2004 to 2008. He returned to the University of Bologna in 2014 after spending almost 7 years at the University of Hartford (CT, USA) where he was a tenured Associate Professor in the Architecture Department. Over the last decade, he has been a visiting scholar at several international institutions that include Missouri S&T -USA (Summer 2012 and 2015) and Northwestern University - USA (Summer 2012 and 2013). Dr. Carloni research interests include fracture mechanics, masonry structures, and FRP and FRCM composite materials. He authored more than 80 articles on structural mechanics and a book chapter on the bond behavior between composite materials and quasi-brittle substrates. Carloni is the chair of ACI Committe 446 (Fracture Mechanics of Concrete) and voting member of several international technical committes.
