· Used to + infinitive – to describe past habits, actions or states. Eg We used to visit my grandma every Sunday. Did you use to like football when you were little? John didn’t use to wear glasses. I used to believe in Father Christmas. (!! Do not confuse USED TO + INF with TO BE USED TO + ING FORM!!) I am used to drinking tea with sugar.

NO!! He would like football. (correct = He used to like football.)

NO!!  He would have a beard. (correct = He used to have a beard.)
