Short Bio

Carla Bagnoli is Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Modena & Reggio Emilia since 2010. She was previously tenured Full Professor at the University of Wisconsin, where she had taught since 1998 on a tenure-track. In 2021-22 she was nominated Visiting Fellow at All Souls College Oxford. She joined the Philosophy Faculty at the University of Oslo from 2015-18), and was Visiting Fellow a Harvard, LMU Munich, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, ENS- Lyon. Bagnoli does research on the philosophy of action, practical reasoning, Kantian ethics,  moral epistemology and meta-ethics. Among her recent publications: Ethical Constructivism (Cambridge UP 2022), e Teoria della responsabilità (Il Mulino, 2019). She edited Time in Action: the Temporal Structure of Rational Agency and Practical Thought (Routledge 2022), Constructivism in Ethics (Cambridge UP 2013), Morality and the Emotions (Oxford UP 2011). Her essays appear in the Oxford Studies in Agency and Responsibility, Oxford Studies in Normative Ethics, European Journal of Philosophy, and Ethical Theory and Moral Practice.
