Dr. Brett Ashley Crawford is an Associate Teaching Professor of Arts Management at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Crawford has worked extensively as a professional arts manager and as professor in both arts management and theatre history. The highlights of her private sector work include an accumulated 10 years working as Managing Director plus 20 years in the field in myriad independent engagements in theatre, film, and arts festival work in NY, GA, TN, TX, and MD. She is a member of Actors Equity Association and a practicing stage manager. She has presented invited lectures and workshops internationally on audience engagement, audience development, technology and the arts, and arts management for all sectors of arts & cultural management.
Education: BS in Theatre, Northwestern University; MFA in Arts Management, Texas Tech University; Ph.D. in Theatre History & Criticism with a graduate certificate in Women’s Studies, University of Maryland, College Park.
