Binbin Du

My name is Binbin Du, a first-year PhD student of department of civil, chemical, environmental, and materials engineering at University of Bologna. My research focuses on conservation materials of stone cultural heritage, which is mainly about combining plant essential oils with hydroxyapatite coatings to protect stone heritage.

I got the bachelor degree from Beijing Forestry university in 2021, major in Wood science and Engineering, followed by a Master degree of Cultural Heritage and Museology from Zhejiang university in 2024. These academic experiences have provided me with a strong foundation in material science and analytical techniques relevant to cultural heritage conservation.

I have a great interest on this field, because I love historical buildings and beautiful artifacts. In my spare time, I enjoy reading historical books, travelling to different places, visiting famous museums. In addition, I’m the big fan of The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter
