Short Bio

Research fellow at the University of Bologna since 2021, she carries out her research in the fields of philosophy of comparative psychology, behavioral evolution, neuroscience and cognition. She has paid particular attention to the role of mirror mechanisms and epigenetics in the development and evolution of intersubjectivity and social communication. In collaboration with the Center of Knowledge and Cognition, she is leading a research project concerning the role of emotions and mentalizing in the perception of the self.

Author of several scientific and philosophical publications, she is engaged in international collaborations with the Max Planck for the Sciences of Human History in Leipzig (Germany), with the Center for Mind and Cognition of the University of Bochum (Germany), with the Laboratory of Symbolic Communication of Riken in Tokyo (Japan) and with the Department of Philosophy and Religion of the University of Mississippi USA).
