Professor of Economics in Bologna since 2022, he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Previously he held positions at the California Institute of Technology, UAB Barcelona and European University Institute where he also served as Head of Department. His research interests are Political Economy, Public Economics and Applied Theory. He has published in international journals such as AER, AEJ Micro, JEEA, IER, GEB, JPubE, JoP among others. His research has been supported by NSF, Ramón y Cajal fellowship, MIUR-PRIN, and EMIF. He has been a panelist for Economic Policy and he is a CEPR research fellow, a RCEA senior fellow, and an Associate Editor of the European Economic Review.
