Dr. Andrea Coraddu is an Associate Professor at TU Delft in the Department of Maritime and Transport Technology. Previously, he held academic roles at the University of Strathclyde and Newcastle University and served as a Research Engineer at DAMEN R&D in Singapore. He holds a Laurea and a PhD in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Genoa. His research focuses on intelligent and sustainable energy systems for ships, with emphasis on the modeling, optimization, and control of hybrid and fully electric marine powerplants. Dr. Coraddu integrates onboard data, digital tools, and machine learning to monitor vessel performance, reduce fuel consumption, and support decarbonization strategies. His work advances real-time decision-making and energy-efficient operations in maritime transport. Through cutting-edge data-driven approaches, he contributes to the global effort toward cleaner, smarter, and more resilient maritime energy systems.
