Research Interests:

Design and synthesis of small molecules of interest in medicinal chemistry. In particular, he is currently focusing his research efforts on the identification of new antitumor compounds for cancer therapies and new calcium antagonist as innovative therapeutic tools for cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. All these activities have resulted in the publication of more than 90 original papers in international journals with a high impact factor (J. Med. Chem., J. Org. Chem., European J. Med. Chem., Bior. Med. Chem. Letters, Biorg. Med. Chem., Anticancer research, Analytica Chimica Acta, Tetrahedron,etc.), and 2 patents.

1997 - 1998 Participating in the program of research: Synthesis and antitumor activity of imidazole derivatives, indole and analogues of tamoxifen. Area 03 - Chemical Sciences Duration 24 months

2003 - 2004 Participating in the program of research: Design, synthesis and biological characterization of serotonergic ligands and calcium channel active on the cardiovascular system. Area 03 - Chemical Sciences Duration 24 months.

2004 - 2005 Participating in the program of research: New antiproliferative agents related to natural and synthetic prototypes. Area 03 - Chemical Sciences Duration 24 months.
