Nota biografica

Currently Sr. Associate Astronomer at INAF-OAS. Worked longtime in Milan (Brera Obs.), Mexico (INAOE, Puebla), and Spain (Roque de los Muchachos Obs., La Palma). Supervised +30 thesis in Physics, Astrophysics and Philosophy of Science. In my earlier career I extensively worked on the study of galaxy and globular cluster spectrophotometric evolution across the cosmic time. This original field of research has been accompanied, in more recent years, by a prevailing activity on Space Situational Awareness (SSA) issues dealing with the physical and dynamical characterization of natural (meteors & NEO) and artificial space debris. Currently member of the Steering Committee of OCIS, in the framework of the European Consortium for Space Surveillance and Defense, as INAF National Representative, together with ASI and Air Force. I also contribute to the Working Team of the Italian Prime Minister's Office on the same themes of Space Policy. My scientific production comprises over 180 publications, with some 3500 citations and a total Hirtsch Index of 32 (as from the Google Scholar database). Vai al Curriculum
