PASS - INTERNATIONAL NETWORK DEVOTED TO EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND THIRD MISSION - A WORLD VISION

The International Project “Participatory AgroEcology School System” (PASS) funded by the Alma Mater University of Bologna, aims to strengthen the collaboration on AgroEcology between UNIBO, University of California (Prof. Miguel Altieri) and many other prestigious Partner Universities in the world.

The Project recognizes for AgroEcology an essential role in safeguarding agriculture, the environment and the planet and identifies it, at the same time, as a powerful educational tool, highly functional to the transmission of scientific knowledge. It is believed that the agroecological approach, in research and teaching, is able to stimulate scientific curiosity in students and people, and the ability to grasp the essence of processes, the complexity and biodiversity of the world, ability often affected by serious erosion phenomena, which the University has a duty to counteract.
The Project pursues 4 objectives focused on AgroEcology:
1. Creation of an Trans-Frontier Joint lab.
2. Proposal for innovative educational offers.
3. Development of soft skills through AgroEcology.
4. Transmission of the value of AgroEcology to Communities, Territories and Society (Third Mission).

PASS is an inclusive project, an open idea, a world vision. Personalized PASS Junior versions have been developed on demand for Primary and Secondary Schools.

The International PASS Community.
