By the end of the course students will know the theoretical basis of quantitative and qualitative and advanced statistical models as well as psychological testing theories, and practical applications in the areas of health, well-being and social inclusivity
Contenuti
This course provides students with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to understand, interpret, and apply statistical methods commonly used in psychological research. It is specifically designed to support the critical reading and appropriate use of inferential statistics in research projects within health psychology, neuropsychology, well-being, and social inclusion.
The course covers the entire research process, from formulating research questions and hypotheses to study design, data collection, data management, and preliminary data exploration. Particular emphasis is placed on the rationale, application, and interpretation of inferential statistical methods, with a focus on linear and non-linear regression models. Students will learn how to select appropriate statistical approaches, interpret model outputs, and critically evaluate statistical findings reported in the scientific literature.
By the end of the course, students will be able to understand the statistical reasoning underlying empirical research and confidently interpret the results of quantitative analyses in psychology and related health sciences.
