Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire
At the end of the course the student will be aware of the increasing role of nanotechnology in all the fields of industry. He/she will acquire knowledge of synthesis and properties of nanomaterials and of the most innovative nanotechnological processes. The regulatory framework for nanotechnologies will be provided for the knowledge improvement of the student.
Contenuti
Classification of nano-structured materials. Influence on properties by “nano-structure induced effects”. Synthetic strategies and characterization methods. Inorganic nanotubes and nanoparticles. Inorganic nanoparticles in nature: biological and geological inspired synthesis. Comparing natural and synthetic nanomaterials, two case studies: apatite and crysotile. Some present and future applications of inorganic nanomaterials. What are the fundamental issues in nanomaterials?
