Contenuti

The course is aimed at students with a general interest in Italian with, preferably, A1/A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ( CEFR).

B1 (intermediate) language learners will be able to:

  • identify, understand and interpret the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.

  • understand the main point of radio or TV programs on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest when the delivery is relatively slow and clear.

  • understand texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday or job-related language.

  • understand and identify descriptions of events, feelings and wishes in personal letters.

  • deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.

Course contents

This blended course aims at the preparation needed to reach the level of competence B1 provided for passing the language proficiency test.

1. Grammar

uses and functions of the definite and indefinite articles

forms and usage of the adjectives buono and bello

dimonstrative adjectives: questo/quello

possessive adjectives and pronouns

Metodi didattici

This is a blended course with in-class lessons (24 hours) and self-learning activities (24 hours). Students will be offered guidance in self-study and will have access to Unibo’s e-learning platform.

A communicative approach is used. Although all four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) are practised, there is a main emphasis on reading and listening.

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

Pass/Fail (idoneità) test structure:

It is a written test consisting of 3 parts:

  • Language use/vocabulary section with multiple choice questions and fill in the blanks.

  • Reading comprehension section with multiple choice questions

  • Listening comprehension section with multiple choice questions

The pass threshold for the test is set at 60% and the maximum time allowed to finish all sections of the test is 90 minutes.
