Learning outcomes

The student - knows the basic elements of Ukrainian language and culture, - is able to understand and produce written texts and oral speech, expressing himself/herself with relative fluency and spontaneity, - knows the basic problems and strategies of dialogic interpretation, - is able to use them in elementary communicative situations.

Course contents

The course is intended for absolute beginners, so we start with the alphabet, pronunciation, transliteration and then move on to grammar embedded in everyday communicative contexts. We look at notions of history and culture.
