Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students know the integrated approach to pain therapy and analgesia: pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Specifically, students can: recognize toxic effects of anaesthetic agents (local and systemic); • apply combination therapies and preanaesthetic medication; • know how to use medications in patients undergoing treatment for psychosis, depression, epilepsy or Parkinson's disease; know the basic principles underlying lack of drug response (issues with non-responder patients); know emergency drugs used in dentistry.
