Learning outcomes

At the end of the course student has to get a proper knowledge of human anatomy related to locomotor apparatus and movement, with particular attention to sport activity.

Course contents

LOCOMOTOR APPARATUS

General knowledge of connective tissues. Cartilage tissue, bone tissue, skeletal muscle tissue. Tendons: structure and ultrastructure.

General knowledge of skeleton.

General knowledge and classification of skeletal joints.

Temporomandibular joint, glenohumeral joint, elbow joints, wrist joints, hand joints, coxo-femoral joint, knee joint, ankle joints, foot joints, spinal column joints.

General knowledge and classifiction of skeletal muscles.

Skeletal muscles of head and neck, chest muscles, abdomen muscles, back muscles, upper limb muscles,  lower limb muscles, intrinsic chest muscles, perineum muscles.

Fasciae, sheaths, synovial bursae.

General considerations about gait and posture.

 

This Course is the first part of an Integrated Exam (Human Anatomy). The student has to pass this exam before to show up for the exam of the second part (Anatomy of Organs and Nervous System).

Frontal lessons with different anatomical  images.

Practise.

Lessons about videos of anatomical dissection.

 

 

Assessment methods

The oral exame includes two or more questions about general subjects. (Example: a skeletal joint with the corresponding bones, ligaments, different intrinsic structures and related movements; a skeletal muscle group with single origins and insertions in relation to the generated movements).

Audiovisual materials.

Natural bones.  Anatomical plastic models. Wax anatomical models.
