Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding regarding the clinical-functional evaluation of subjects with pathology of the cardio-respiratory system. He knows the objectives and knows how to plan and implement a physiotherapy intervention, in subjects with respiratory-cardiological pathology and / or undergoing surgery / transplantation. The student knows and understands epidemiology, preventive aspects and the main operating techniques of burns. He knows and understands the role, the purpose of rehabilitation and knows how to plan, plan and implement an adequate rehabilitation intervention in the burn patient. The student knows and understands the theoretical principles and knows how to plan, program and apply a physiotherapy intervention in patients with pelvic floor dysfunctions or with urinary and faecal incontinence.

Course contents

the assessment that the problem oriented medical record; subjective and objective evaluation of the patient with breathing problems; Principles of physiology which underlie the techniques of chest physiotherapy
the cough
postural drainage
Forced expiration technique, ACBT
Airway clearence techniques using the positive expiratory pressure
Autogenic drainage, ELTGOL
Airway clearence using machines
the upper respiratory tract
Outline of aerosol and oxygen therapy
Evaluation of chest wall, dyspnea
Evaluation of exercise tolerance
Special cases: the transplant patient, the COPD patient, the surgical patient, the patient with spine injuries, the patient with cystic fibrosis, cardiac patients, the pediatric patient, with neuromuscular disease, the patient with Covid 19.

The rehabilitation of the burned patien:t: acute, post-acute, phase of the outcomes
Anatomy of the pelvic floor, perineal rehabilitation

N.B. In consideration of the types of activities and teaching methods adopted, the attendance of this training activity requires all students to carry out modules 1 and 2 in e-learning mode and to participate in the third specific training module on safety and health in places of study / internship.
