Learning outcomes

M-PSI/05

At the end of the activity students will know: how to apply community psychology methods and principles in the development of a community based project, focusing in particular on stakeholder analysis, problem analysis, analysis and definition of objectives, definition of an evaluation plan.

M-PSI/08

At the end of the laboratory students will know: how to perform a psychological assessment; clinical methodology applied to clinical cases.

Course contents

The course will take place during the first semester for the two M-PSI/05 modules (October - January) and during the second semester for the M-PSI/08 part (March - May) at the Department of Psychology, Cesena Campus (address: piazza Aldo Moro, 90 and v.le Europa, 115).

M-PSI/05

Community Psychology Lab provides students the opportunity to receive training to design, manage and evaluate health promotion/community intervention projects. Students will be trained to analyze problems related to health promotion/community intervention projects, to map community characteristics, needs and resources, to develop a strategic plan for the intervention and evaluate the plan.

Contents

Developing health promotion/ community intervention projects after disasters
Developing projects to promote sport and physical activity
Developing projects to reduce homophobia and to promote health in LGBT people

M-PSI/08

Identification of signs, symptoms and syndromes in clinical psychology. Differential diagnosis. Formulation of diagnostic hypotheses and treatment planning.

Teaching methods

M-PSI/05:
Use will be made of role-playing methods, small group work, guided discussions, slides, videotapes and further reading suggested.

M-PSI/08:

Teaching methods will include group work, clinical case presentations, role-playing, practical examples of psychological assessment.

 


Assessment methods

M-PSI/05:

The final (written) test will focus on the main topics covered during the laboratory and include multiple choice and open ended questions. The final test will take place during the last class scheduled. 

M-PSI/08:

Active participation to the laboratory course is essential in order to get admitted to the final examination. The final evaluation will consist in a written exam concerning topics discussed during classes. This final examination will take place during the last class of the laboratory course.

M-PSI/08:

Video projector, DVD player, PC. Handouts will be provided during classes.
