Learning outcomes

At the end of the course - after the final examination - the student acquires a fundamental knowledge on electromagnetic phenomena in vacuum and in conductors and the capability to solve practical problems.

Course contents

Microscopic structure of matter (hints). Quantization of the electric charge. Electrostatic field in vacuum. Electrostatic field in matter. Stationary electric current. Stationary magnetic fields. Variable electric and magnetic fields. The electromagnetic field and Maxwell equations.

Assessment methods

Written and oral examination. Each written examination is made of three exercises. During the test you can use calculators while books and notes are forbidden.
