Academic Year 2021/2022

  • Moduli: Felice Adinolfi (Modulo 1) Federico Marinacci (Modulo 2) Alessandro Gesuato (Modulo 3)
  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures (Modulo 1) Traditional lectures (Modulo 2) Traditional lectures (Modulo 3)
  • Campus: Cesena
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Aquaculture and Fish Production Hygiene (cod. 8834)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student is able to work with real numbers, knows the algebraic calculation and the fundamental properties of the geometric figures. In particular, the student is able to: - use mathematical knowledge and technical tools at a good level; - set up and solve problems; - assimilate new concepts based on previous experience and knowledge. The student learns the main methods and basic tools of the quantitative study of collective phenomena. In particular, the student is able to: - interpret and critically evaluate statistical information (reading and understanding articles in magazines and / or specialized publications); - produce and process statistical data independently; - apply some tools of the statistical methodology for the description and quantitative study of biological and economic phenomena. The student learns the following basics of physics: the units of measurement, the general terminology and the basic principles, notions that also allow him to follow the courses of physiology.

Mathematics Module

Contents

- main numerical sets and operations defined in them;
- algebraic calculation references;
- definition of function and their general properties;
- exponentials, logarithms and trigonometric functions;
- limits and algebra of limits;
- continuity of a function;
- derivatives;
- study of function.

Physics Module

At the end of the teaching, the student is able to work with vectors and solve simple kinematics exercises, correctly identifying the types of motion and knowing how to read a graph. He can solve exercises to determine the balance of rigid bodies and knows the main differences between the various forms of energy and work. In particular he knows the main laws of hydrostatics and thermodynamics and can solve medium-complex exercises on these issues. In particular the student is able to: - use physical and mathematical knowledge and tools at a good level; - set and solve problems; - assimilate new concepts based on previous experience and knowledge.

Physics Module

Contents

- main elements of the vector calculation;
- kinematics: the main motions;
- dynamics and balance of bodies;
- energy and work;
- hydrostatic: the fundamental laws and exercises;
- thermodynamics: the principles of thermodynamics, thermal expansion, the concepts of heat, internal energy and work; exercises on specific heat and thermal capacity.

Teaching methods

Participatory teaching methods.

1) During the classes, Students are regularly required to apply the basic statistical concepts with coordinated exercise

2) At least once during the course (mid/final part) a review session is developed, based on Teacher instruction, where Students are demanded to recall the arguments treated during the classes, structure them according to logical criteria, identify functional links among concepts and analytical schemes.

In case of remote learning, this activity can be substituted by mid-term test (multi-choice test).

Students with special needs are invited to contact by email the professors of the different modules in order to illustrate them and better organize teaching and exams

Assessment methods

The student will have to take a written and an oral test for each module that composes the Integrated Course. The times and the modalities (in itinere tests or only final test), will be agreed with the students during the A.A. in order to facilitate its development.

GRID FOR ATTRIBUTION OF THE GRADE (ORAL EXAMINATION)
A very thorough knowledge of the topics addressed in the course, together with high skills of critical analysis, linkage and confident mastery of specific terminology will be evaluated with the highest score (30-30L).
A thorough knowledge of the topics covered in the course, together with good analytical and critical skills and a sure command of specific terminology will be evaluated with good marks (27-29).
A technically adequate preparation and sufficient analytical skills, even if not particularly articulate, expressed in a correct language, will produce discrete evaluations (23-26).
Sufficient preparation and analytical skills, expressed in a barely formally correct language, will determine sufficiency (18-22).
