Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will: - know the applied cognitive psychology to the legal framework with particular reference to the testimony and the cognitive processes involved in it, to legal reasoning and its implications in the moment of decision, the psychology in criminal justice and civil.

Course contents

The program will focus issues related to the legal framework applied psychology. In particular, will address the issue of the cognitive processes involved in witness and the judge's reasoning. Will then be dealt with issues related to the exercise of the psychological profession in both civil and criminal matters.

Traditional didactics, video, simulations, and classroom discussions

Assessment methods

The exam aims to test the acquisition of reaching expertise provided during the course, whether theoretical and applied. This verification will be through its talk to the exam papers and evaluation will take place out of thirty. 

The exam intends passed with an assessment of 18/30. 3 questions will be asked. Failure to answer a question involves not passing the exam.

The votes are assigned considering these indications:

Preparation on a very limited number of topics covered in the course and analytical skills that emerge only with the help of the teacher, expressed in an overall correct language → 18-19;

Preparation on a limited number of topics covered in the course and ability to autonomous analysis only on purely executive matters, expression in correct language → 20-24;

Preparation on a large number of topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29;

Basically exhaustive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make autonomous choices of critical analysis and connection, full mastery of specific terminology and ability to argue and self-reflection → 30-30L.

Teaching tools

Videos will be used to learn some of the topics illustrated in the lectures, tests will be presented to evaluate the requests made by judges to the psychologists involved in the legal context
