Learning outcomes

This course is essential in all the motor and sport activity fields in which youth people are involved. Methodology, didactics, communication and relationship must be well-known and used in different and dynamic situation with reference to the different ages. The choice of theory, technique and methodology is conditioned by development stage from infancy to adulthood and involve the different educational roles (teacher, trainer, instructor, entertainer).

Aim of the Course is to stimulate student's attitude towards open professionalism in sport and physical education's field, that are always in progress.

Knowledge and skill must be focused on the following expertise:

· relationship expertise: correct use of communication skill as regards the different youth's development age. Correct use of teaching approach in the general educational situation and in the particular didactic setting.

· Didactics expertise: correct use of methods and exercises as regards to the teaching program and objectives, let alone the different youth ages.

· Subject expertise: correct use of subject's knowledge in order to the different teaching component (objectives, programming, evaluation) .

· Practice expertise: correct use of educational flexibility in the Physical and Sport education class organization (setting, spaces, times, exercises, tools, Physical Education and sport facilities).

Course contents

1) Motor activity  

1a) Motricity factors. Sensory motor system. The motor abilities. The Laterality.  the motor skills. Motor Learning.

1b) Motor development in youth age. Motor schema ontogenesis Physical education and cognitive development from the  stage of sensory motor intelligence. Emotional development (from egocentrism to social skills).   Coordinative and physical load in development age.

2) The body perception. Developmental age. Body schema and body image.

3) Methodology and didactics. Educational situation (teaching-learning context). Educational relationship. Educational method. Educational communication.  The teaching styles. Didactic setting. The contents of physical education. Programming and planning. Formative evaluation.

4)The Motor skills . Concept and classification. Motor learning. the motor schema theory. The feedback in learning process.

5) Play and game. Theories about the play. Play and education. Play and cognition. The versatility of the play. From the sensory motor play to play-sports

6) the teaching- learning experience. The PE or sport lesson -  Lesson‘s organization - learning target – Didactics progression (simple to complex – easy to difficult – know to unknown) – Hierarchical programming – modular programming.

7.1 Outdoor Education: outdoor adventures; outdoor learning.

7.2 Cooperative learninig

8) Working online or in space-time restricted situations (e.g., COVID19 pandemic) in physical education and sports. Useful directions, experiences, and strategies.

9) General prevention contents. Prevention and posture in developmental age. Prevention in children's sport practice. Prevention in youth sport training. Motivational orientation and motivational climate in education and sport.

Assessment methods

Final exam will be performer by means the following trials

1) Written examination (closed answer test): this trial to be based on the book “Scienze e motricità” as evaluation of the basic subject knowledge.

2) Oral examination: this trial to be based on the whole program.

3) Personal Dossier evaluation (at the same time of the oral examination). The dossier will make by the student on Teacher and tutor's indications.

4) Group work evaluation in Cooperative Learning.
